The willow opener ALR is mainly used in blending plants for pre-opening the fiber sandwich unloaded from a set of bale openers with weighing pan. Its frame is constructed of thick laser-cut steel plates.
The feeding system consists of a grooved upper cylinder and a smooth lower cylinder that rotate on ball bearings housed in special bushings. The cylinders are driven by an independent gearbox with variable speed controlled by a frequency inverter. The feeding belt can be equipped with a pressing cylinder or an upper pressing belt, driven by the same gearbox as the feeding cylinders.
The drum has a diameter of 930 mm above the pins and rotates on bearings. It is statically and dynamically balanced and is fitted with steel pins fixed to wooden slats.
The cross-section of the pins and their density can change depending on the type of fiber being opened and the desired degree of opening.
