The SFX Fine Opener is suitable for blending and finely opening fibers before being conveyed to the airlay or carding machine. The machine can be fed by a volumetric hopper feeder or a vertical silo.
The feeding system consists of a feed belt, a smooth lower cylinder, and an upper cylinder covered with a rigid gasket, rotating under pneumatic pressure against a stainless steel cradle. The feeding unit is driven by an independent gearbox with variable speed controlled by a frequency inverter.
The drum has a diameter of 930 mm above the pins and rotates on ball bearings. It is statically and dynamically balanced and is clothed with steel pins fixed to wooden slats. The dimension of the pins and their density can be changed depending on the type of fiber being opened and the desired degree of opening.
Upon customer request, the machine can be equipped with an adjustable system for rejecting impurities and material that is not sufficiently opened.
